Functions and design of the Desk 5000
The Desk 5000 stationary EC card reader is connected to the cash register via USB or RS232. Communication takes place either via Ethernet or WLAN. The Desk 5000 also has a graphics-capable thermal printer. Thanks to the Cortex A5 processor and integrated Telium technology, the Desk 5000 offers particularly powerful performance that enables short transaction times. The terminal can also be expanded via the OAI concept (Open Application Interface) for bonus and loyalty systems such as customer cards.
The Desk 5000 continues to impress with its ergonomic design. The contactless reader positioned above the display makes it easier to use NFC-enabled smartphones. The high-resolution touch display and clear keypad also contribute to the improved user-friendliness of the stationary terminal.
Which payment methods are possible with the Desk 5000?
With the Ingenico Desk 5000, you can enjoy full card flexibility: the stationary EC terminal processes all major EC and credit cards, including contactless payments via near-field communication (NFC) and EMV chip. This means you can also offer your customers payments with NFC-enabled smartphones and Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Alipay.
