Following the merger of Nets and Nexi along with all subsidiary and affiliated companies into the Nexi Group, the company is introducing a new management structure on its path to becoming the leading European Paytech company with a natural local approach. The local go-to-market strategy will be implemented through four European regions. The DACH region, Nordic countries, Central and Southeast Europe, as well as Italy, will each be overseen by a Chief Regional Officer. This new setup allows for consideration of the national specifics in the payment and banking structures, ensuring that individual business units remain close to employees and customers, enabling agile responses to dynamics. Simultaneously, customer companies and Nexi teams will benefit from the innovation and scale of the entire group. The high-growth DACH region will be led by Carola Wahl
Experienced top executive Carola Wahl will assume responsibility for the Germany business and the entire DACH region of the Nexi Group effective January 1, 2023. Wahl will oversee strategic operations for payment service providers Concardis in Germany and Austria, as well as Nets in Switzerland. With over 25 years of experience in leading and transforming international companies in regulated markets with high innovation demands, Wahl brings a wealth of expertise. She spent twelve years in leadership roles at Deutsche Telekom, including serving as Senior Vice President for Indirect Sales and Services. Additionally, at AXA Switzerland, she led cloud and data-driven transformation initiatives as Chief Transformation and Market Management Officer.
New management team with continuity
The Nexi Leadership Team for the DACH region includes Carola Wahl, along with the two longstanding Country General Managers, Marianne Bregenzer for Switzerland and Damir Leko for Austria, who have successfully developed their respective businesses in recent years. The new leadership team is further strengthened by Götz Möller, who joined Nexi Group as Chief Financial Officer for the German business and the entire DACH region in late November 2022. Möller brings over 20 years of experience as a board member in the financial services and technology sectors. In his last two professional positions, he served as Chief Financial Officer of payment service providers PPRO and Payone.
